Kanbe’s Markets: A Model for Food Justice in Kansas City
Tuesday, Mar. 4 | 3 p.m.- 4 p.m. | GEB 233 (Craig Auditorium)
Learn about Kanbe’s Markets’ mission to build a more inclusive food system by transforming food loss into food access. Their work serves the most vulnerable in the Kansas City metro, while reducing unnecessary food waste discarded into landfills. Their mission is to deliver food justice, one neighborhood at a time. In 2024 alone, Kanbe's Markets redirected 1,000,000 pounds of produce from ending up in landfills.
Join this presentation as Sydney Schier, Redirection Coordinator for Kanbe's Markets, speaks about their program model, its impact across Kansas City, and great ways that students can get involved!
This event is FREE and open to the public.
Online registration is available, but it is not required for attendance
Refreshments will be provided.
